Poppy and Grandma Are Here

Here is Poppy, Hayden, Grandma, and Hailey

On Thursday afternoon, Roger and Shirley arrived from Texas to celebrate Christmas with us. The kids were excited to see them, and of course to open MORE PRESENTS!!!! They each got one of their webkinz they asked for, a National Geographic kids animal DVD set, games for their Game Boy and Leapster, and a High School Musical II DVD!!!! Thanks Poppy and Grandma!!!! After opening gifts we had dinner and visited. The kids had trouble going to sleep....too much excitement with grandparents having a sleepover!!!!! They finally dozed off. On Friday, Poppy and Grandma watched the kids for awhile while I went to work...Thanks so much! That evening, Grandma cooked us Jambalaya and we rented movies to watch. But first, we had to try out the new American Idol karaoke game that Aunt Kim gave Hailey for Christmas. It was very funny and I think we all enjoyed it. You sing with one of the Idols and then everyone gets a turn (as Simon, Paula, and Randy) to rate your performance. It was pretty funny. We even got Poppy in on it....YEAH POPPY! That headed back home Saturday morning. We enjoyed your visit guys and glad you were able to come.

Hailey started us off!

Watch out Leila and Jermaine, here come Hailey and Hayden!! HaHa!! Here is the video of Hailey and Hayden boxing. It was so funny. It was really a good work out, too. You kept having to remind them to scoot back. If not, before long, they would've been actually punching the TV!!!

Christmas Night at Mimi's

We went to Mimi and PopPop's house for Christmas. It is always so much fun to have all the kids together and our families. The kids have a blast and as you can see in some of the pictures, the older kids do too. Sean, Karen and Garret brought down their (Garrets's..:)) new Wii. It was alot of fun, but more fun watching them. You will see in the pictures they are "boxing". It was hilarious. I will put a couple of video clips on her later to share. HILARIOUS!!!! Anyway, we got out their around 2:30 and visited and played. We had a great dinner and then on to presents. The kids got to go first. They RACKED UP!!!! Some of the things they got were:
Hailey: a TELEPHONE FOR HER ROOM!!!! a webkinz, a telescope, nintendo DS lite, a pink cap gun pistol and I-Dog clothes.
Hayden: a dalmation Techno Dog, a cap gun, 2 webkinz, webkinz clothes, remote control monster truck, and clothes.

They got entirely too much!!! They were all so cute seeing them get so excited. They're yelling to each other "I got a ....." . It was pretty loud. Then on to the adults. We tried something different this year. Instead of trying to get everyone some little something, we decided to do one bigger gift and do "Dirty Santa'' where you can steal from each other. Of course, the ladies were much nicer to each other (even though I wanted to steal Peggy's :) Haha). But, we all ended up with something nice and it was alot of fun! I think we decided to do it again next year. After a long day, we packed up to get ready to go home and Mimi volunteered to have all the older kids have a sleepover. She MUST be crazy!!!! She had 5 of them camped out at her house. WHEW!!! I know they had a good time and hopefully Mimi has recovered by now. :) Brian and I went home and crashed. I had to work the next morning! :(

Another Christmas goes by and I am just so thankful for our wonderful family and the times we spend together. They truly mean alot and I know the kids will enjoy these memories forever. Merry Christmas everyone!!!!!

Christmas Morning!!!!

Somebody is trying to peek! I had the kids wait so we could get them on video when they walk in to see what Santa brought. Hayden is trying to get a sneak peek!Santa brought each of them an art easel with all the cool stuff...paint, brushes, spill proof cups, paper, chalk, crayons, etc. and a karaoke machine and 2 CDs!

Hayden with his arm all the way down into his stocking!!!!
Hailey checking out all her teacher supplies! I can't wait to play school!!!! :)
Future Teacher of the Year!
The kids woke up about 7:45 a.m. ready to see what Santa had brought. They were pretty excited, however, their favorite present was, of course, a webkin. We could have saved alot of money and just bought a handful of those things and they would've been in heaven!!! Anyway, some oh the things Hayden got were a fire truck, police car, and ambulance; a spiderman I-Dog, and webkinz clothes. Hailey got webkinz clothes, charms and mouse pad; and teacher supplies. Hailey and I sang karaoke with Troy and Gabriella to High School Musical Songs (we sounded just like them :) Haha). After unwrapping all the presents it was time to start cooking and getting ready to go to Mimi's for more fun!

Christmas Eve at Nana's

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve at Brian's mom's house this year. We headed down about 3:00 and didn't get home until about 10:00. We ate too much and then opened a slew of presents. The kids had a great time and were super excited about their gifts. Here is a sample of their goodies....
Hayden: a desk and chair, Wild River Country season passes, a down comforter, clothes, piggy bank

Hailey: a Techno Dog (Robot), Wild River Country season passes, a down comforter, clothes, and jewelry

On the way home, we saw Santa's sleigh and Rudolph way up in the sky. Hailey got so excited she started crying! They tried to talk us out of a bath so they could get to bed quicker. When we got home they got a quick shower and got to open up one gift (our tradition) of pajamas and house shoes. After setting out milk, cookies, and reindeer food; it was off to bed. What a day!

Christmas Lights

We started off our Christmas celebration by driving around and looking at Christmas lights. It was the night before Christmas Eve and we loaded up. We had a great time together and saw some amazing lights. Check out the Griswold's above. You cannot even imagine how many lights these people had in their yard. I would hate to have to pay their electric bill this month! One house even had Santa and an elf out in front and when you would drive by, they would ask your name to check on the list and see if you were on the naughty or nice list. Brian had a question mark by his name. :)

Hayden's Christmas Party Pictures-2007

OK, first of all I just have to say that I am LOVING my name camera! I have only used it once so far but it is so cool. We used the video component to record one of Hayden's songs at his Christmas program at school. It was so easy to download and put on here. I am so excited....now we will be able to share some of their activities especially with family who live far away (Poppy & Grandma:)). Anyway, Hayden had his party Friday morning. First of all, Santa came and all the kids got to sit on Santa's lap and tell them what they wanted for Christmas. Hayden has been wanting to take Santa his list but we haven't made it back down to the mall with kids. So, I told him to take his list to his party. I wasn't there for this part, but another mom told me about it and said it was hilarious. The kids went up one by one and told Santa what they wanted. Hayden went up and sat on his lap. He pulled his list out and said, "I have a list!" They said it was so funny! Santa and Hayden looked over his list. And, later, I got in trouble because I forgot to put on it "webkin clothes"! There was already about 10 things on it! We then went to the sanctuary to listen to them sing a few songs and then back to the classroom. They ate birthday cake for Jesus and opened up their books from their book exchange. He had a great time and then got to go to work with me for awhile which he LOVES. We have a big gym where you can ride bikes, swing on a platform swing, jump in a ball pit and all sorts of fun equipment. They think it is heaven! Friday night they stayed with Mimi and PopPop so Brian and I could go to a Christmas party. We had lots of fun and it was great seeing everyone! Thanks so much for having us Shane Beau and Heather!

Hailey's Christmas Party

Hailey had her Christmas Party at school yesterday. She had lots of fun and it was pretty hectic. As we were starting the party and trying to get everything coordinated, the fire alarm went off and everyone had to exit the building. We had to wait for the fire truck to come and let the firemen go through each room before we were allowed back in. Her teacher said it had happened a few weeks ago and was a glitch in their system, but we assumed a younger sibling or student may have pulled it for kicks! Who knows? Anyway, they were in three groups for the party and they rotated between snacks, going to the library to hear a parent read polar express and make a Christmas necklace, and going to the cafeteria with a parent to decorate a Christmas cookie. I was pretty busy so I only got a few pictures and they are not great, again because it was with my phone. But, everyone do a cheer because.....WE BOUGHT A NEW CAMERA LAST NIGHT!!!! Yea!!! I am sooooo excited and can't wait to use it. We will be trying it out for the first time tomorrow morning at Hayden's christmas party. We'll see how it works! Hailey got lots of goodies at her party. They had a book exchange and she got Hannah Montana and High School Musical books. Then, she got a stocking with 24 presents in it from her classmates! WOW!

Hailey posing with her stuff.

Holiday Parties!!!!

This week has been and will continue to be CRAZY!!!! First of all, my little nephew Jeremy has been very sick and in the hospital. He has a very bad case of pneumonia and had to stay overnight at Children's. He is out now and home on antibiotics and breathing treatments. We hope you feel better soon, Jeremy! We have all been praying for you!

On another note, tonight was my work Christmas Party. We had lots of fun, ate way too much great food, and had a gift exchange. I got the last number which was awesome and stole a Target gift card from my boss :) !! We are all sad because she just put in her notice and Friday will be her last day :( ! ! We had a great time. Tomorrow will be more partying! Hayden has pajama day at school and gets to bring his favorite book. Hailey's Christmas party is tomorrow so I will be helping with it, too. Thursday night, she has a birthday party to go to, and Friday is Hayden's singing program at school and his party with a visit from Santa!!!! Friday night we will be enjoying an adult party with friends at the Smith's....can't wait!!!!

We are also anxiously awaiting Christmas. I am finally finished. Brian has to pick up two more gifts for me but he is responsible for those. Oh, and you all will be glad to know, we are buying ourselves A NEW CAMERA for Christmas!!!! So my pictures will (hopefully) be much better. Until then they will be taken with my phone which is very blurry right now for some reason.

I have so much going on right now that I am afraid I am forgetting something. Maybe something I am supposed to do or somewhere I am supposed to be. It seems like this month has just flown by. Hope everyone is doing well.

We Elfed Ourselves!

Mimi's Birthday

Mimi's Birthday Party!!

Friday night, we celebrated Mimi's birthday (which was actually on Saturday). We had her and my dad, my brother, Scott, and his family over for dinner. We had Mimi's favorite...spaghetti with salad and garlic bread. And for dessert, yellow birthday cupcakes with chocolate frosting. She got a DVD player for her bedroom and some kitchen towels and pot holders. Hailey and Hayden made her special cards. Hayden wrote his name on his and drew her balloons (which he is actually pretty good at!). And, Hailey wrote her some sweet things and taped $.50 in the card. She is really big on giving money these days, which I think is sweet and shows that she is willing to give of her own money to someone else. It was her own idea and everything. We had a great time and Hannah got to stay the night. The girls had fun playing "spy" where they sneak around the house and pretend they are on walkie talkies. They were so funny, I would here them say "Roger, I am in the kitchen" and "Roger, I'll be right there, Roger". I wonder where they learn stuff like that? I remember playing that but I don't know where she learned the "Roger" thing. After quick showers they watched the Santa Clause 3 movie with popcorn and drinks. They were pretty tired when time for bed!!!

Field Trip

Hailey at the fountain at UCA
It was pretty chilly!

Today was quite busy! I took the day off to go with Hailey on her first field trip. It was planned a few weeks ago and we had to pay to go. Hayden's class ended up scheduling a field trip, too, but since I have gone to several of his....I went with Hailey. This was their first and they don't have very many so I was looking forward to spending the day with her and her class. The kids are so cute, they are so excited to see you and act like you are a movie star or something! We went to UCA to watch a Christmas Play. I was in charge of Hailey and another little girl, but when one other girls parents didn't make it (and she was in tears) I took her, too. We pretended like they were all my daughters! After distracting her with conversation, finally the tears stopped and I joke with them that I should be getting 3 Mother's Day Presents this year! That's why I try so hard to make all of their functions because I couldn't stand the thought of MY child feeling bad because their parent wasn't there. It may have cost me an arm and a leg to miss work but it was worth it. :) I am thankful to be able to have the flexibility to work some and take off to participate in special things with my kids. I know I'll never look back and wish I had worked more but I would regret not doing as much as I can with them. (I may be regretting around retirement time though...just joking....Brian will just have to share his retirement with me...HEHEHE!) Anyway, we then went to the UCA cafeteria for lunch. It was a bit crazy. After helping serve the entire 2nd grade, I was able to eat too and then we went to the fountain to wait for the buses. She was off to school and I to Wal-Mart for an hour before time to pick up Hayden. He went caroling downtown this morning to some of the businesses. Needless to say, he did not eat much of his lunch because everywhere they went, they were given cookies and snacks! Oh well! They were very tired tonight and quite dramatic so they were in bed by 7:30! Momma needed some peace and quiet with no tattling! We heard from Hailey's Upward Basketball coach tonight and were very excited that one of her very good friends is on her team! I will post her schedule when we receive it. Probably not until after her first practice which will be the beginning of January. But, I will post as soon as possible for those of you wanting to plan to come. That's all for now!

At the performance, waiting for the play to start. Sorry it is kind of blurry but was taken close up with my camera phone.

High School Musical

We're ready to go! This is a horrible picture but was the only one Brian could get before my camera quit again. I hinted to him that a nice new camera would be a GREAT Christmas present! Haha!!!

Hailey and I went with her best friend, Megan, and her mom (Tammy) to see the Broadway play High School Musical. It was sooooo good. It really was worth the money. The choreography was amazing and the actors sang so well. You wouldn't believe how effortlessly they changed scenes, too! I would definitely recommend it. Hailey was pretty excited. We went the day before to buy her a HSM shirt to wear. She also got a purse with a throw away camera and some goodies, too. I was pleasantly surprised that the merchandise and snacks for sale at the play was not just too outrageous. Hailey got a t-shirt and a pen that is super cute...it looks like a microphone. Megan and Hailey used their pens to sing the songs for us during the intermission. We had a great time together just us girls!!!!

The pop stars in action!

Brian and Hayden had a "boys night". Their night consisted of eating at the Catfish House and then renting spiderman 3 and getting to sleep in bed with daddy. So, guess where I had to sleep? That's OK, we talked alot and got to snuggle. This weekend has been pretty low key. I went shopping today with my mom to spend some of my birthday money. I did pretty good, too! Found some good deals! Tomorrow we will go out to my mom's for my birthday dinner that we postponed due to the past few weeks. I am looking forward to that!!!!! Whoever's birthday it is, my mom will cook their requested meal and dessert. And I fix her dinner for her birthday which is coming up soon!!!
