Cosby's Wedding

Hayden and his red cheeks. He has fifth's disease (a virus that gives a "slapped cheek appearance" and a rash over thebody that isn't contagious once they show symptoms)...crazy, huh?!

My little sweeties!

Well, Friday night we went to Cosby's wedding. It was very pretty. My mom did an awesome job on decorating and everyone looked beautiful. Hailey and Hannah were bubble girls (responsible for passing out the bubbles when the bride and groom leave). They were so pretty! Everyone thought they were twins. Hayden was very handsome, too. He wore his very first tie and was pretty proud of it. But, when he saw Hailey for the first time, he ran over and grabbed her hand and kissed it. It was so sweet. A funny thing happened at the wedding, too. The girls got out there to try to catch the bouquet but it did not come their way. Then, when Hayden and Jeremy got out there to catch the garter, all the grown ups had moved out of the way and treated it like the plague. It landed about two feet behind Hayden. He just turned around and saw it, walked over and picked it up!!! Everyone was rolling laughing. I joked to Brian that he can hang it on the rear view mirror of his battery operated jeep! Haha!! It was pretty funny! Well, I took several pictures before my camera quit on me again (I put a different brand of new batteries in it and it worked for about 10 pictures before quitting again). So, bear with me, cause I have to show them off!!!

Update On My Grandmother

Just wanted to post an update on my grandmother. She is not doing well. I went to see her Monday night because the hospice nurse guessed she had 20-48 hours. She is very weak and hasn't eated anything since Thanksgiving. She is quite confused, too. She talked and listened to us talk quite a bit that night but my mom reports she is not talking much anymore....just sleeping and kind of staring off. Her breathing is very loud at times and the nurse said her heart was racing. Please keep her in your prayers. We know SHE is ready to see her heavenly father and it is comforting to know she will be waiting for us in heaven but it will be difficult to let her go, too.

My Birthday!!!!

Hayden, Hailey, and I waiting for our chef!

Here are some pictures from us celebrating my birthday. The kids were so sweet. They each made me a card and put a dollar in it. When I squealed and told them it was just what I wanted, they started hunting for more things they could give me so I would be so excited again. It was so cute. Hayden made me another card and put a marker in it. Hailey ran and got in her purse and brought me a handful of change, and then Hayden brought me stickers and some change. It was very sweet. They all gave me a gift card to one of my favorite stores so I can go shopping!!!! I can't wait to use that!!! They sang me Happy Birthday on the way to the restaurant, too. We went to Fuji, a japanese steakhouse (where they cook the food in front of you). It is very good and the kids love it ,too. We had a great time! Thanks guys!!! I love you!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We definitely did...ate entirely too much and are still eating!!!! We went to Russellville to my aunt and uncle's and grandma's house. We had a nice visit. My parents and brothers and their families were all there, too. We had a housefull. We had about every food imagineable. And, of course, you have to have a little bit of everything. :) My grandma seemed happy to have us all there and she ate pretty well. She did look a bit swollen in the face but sat up in her scooter from about 1-4ish. I think we wore her out but she enjoyed seeing everyone. Garret (Sean's son) and Mimi came home with us for a sleepover. Tomorrow, my two and Garret are going to Peggy's for a playday while Brian hunts and my mom and I go shopping! We've had alot of fun tonight with them. They are really getting at an age that you can enjoy them at a whole new level. After they all showered, we taught them the game Chicken Foot, that you play with dominoes. They loved it. They were so funny, they would get so excited over starting another chickenfoot (or as Hayden calls it a "chicken leg"). We popped a big bucket of popcorn and baked a whole plateful of chocolate chip cookies and played dominoes for a couple of hours. Then it was off to bed. I have to tell a funny story. Garret and Hayden are sleeping in his bunk beds together and Garret has only spent the night with us once (he lives in OK) and that was quite awhile ago. Anyway, we were doing prayers and Garret went first. He said his prayer and at the end he prayed, "and God, please don't let Aunt Shannon sing Rock-a-Bye-Baby again, Amen". It was soooo funny, because my kids have a tradition since they were little bitty that they want us to sing that song after their prayer everynight. They will not forget either! So, it was pretty funny that he remembered that and prayed about it! I knew I sang bad, but come on! HaHa! We all got a good laugh out of it. So, I HAD to sing him his very own "special" rendition of the song! HeHe!!! :) Hope everyone had a great day! Oh, and by the way, I will have some pictures to post of my girls night last night. We went to BoneFish and it was awesome. Our food was amazing. And, of course, we were there for 3 hours! We can talk now! There will be some "special' pics that were re-enacted from Jr. High too....I'm surprised we didn't get kicked out, girls!!! HaHa! No, we had a great time as usual and are sooooo getting fired up about our Mexico trip....you ALL need to go, even you Gretch! :) That's all for now!

Hayden the Indian

Sorry it has been so long since the last update. My camera is officially broken. It won't even turn on anymore. So, I have been having to use my phone to take pictures. It is just very time consuming to go through them and e-mail them to the computer. Then I have to save them into folders to be able to pull them up onto the blog. We have been really busy so I am just now having the chance to update. Brian hunted all last weekend while we shopped! I found the deal of the century. I bought Hailey a canopy bed. I got an awesome deal on it and on a duvet cover, too. So, I have been working myself to death trying to re-paint her room and furniture so everything coordinates. When I get it finished I will put some pictures on here. I have also been doing quite a bit of Christmas shopping and am happy to report that I am over half way finished! Woo-hoo!!!! The kids have been off this week so Kristen watched them Monday and Tuesday while Miranda baby sat on Wednesday. Thanks so much you two!!! I am going to dinner with my girlfriends that I am going to Mexico with in March tonight. Can't wait to see everyone! Tomorrow we will head to Russellville for Thanksgiving to my aunt and uncle's house. My grandma is not doing very well, so please say a prayer for her. She passed out yesterday and is not eating very much at all. The hospice nurse came this morning and reported that she didn't know if she would make it through Thanksgiving. We hope we will all be able to spend the holiday with her tomorrow and her be awake and aware enough to enjoy it, too. I do have a few pictures to post of Hayden's Thanksgiving Feast. I videotaped it, too, but will have to download some software to my computer and figure out how to transfer it to the blog. He was super cute. Hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving!! Enjoy the pics!

Our Weekend

Hailey has been coughing for a couple of days, especially at night. Friday morning as she was getting ready for school, I noticed she felt warm. She was running fever. It couldn't have been worse timing because Brian was going hunting for the weekend and her best friend, Megan, was having her birthday/slumber party that night. I was worried it might be pneumonia again so I took her to the doctor. Luckily there was no pneumonia. He did say she was wheezy on her left side. She is now on a Z-pack and not running anymore fever. She is still coughing, though. She slept with me last night with the humidifier and didn't stop coughing until after 1:00. Needless to say, we slept in this morning. After getting around, we headed out to shop. I finally found Hayden a few pairs of slacks for church and some dress shoes. He was looking pretty sad at church with too short khaki's and tennis shoes. We then went to a few furniture shops to look at beds. Hailey has her heart set on a particular one. She was begging for it and Hayden was so sweet. They were both laying on it and Hayden said, "I have $5.00 Momma, you can have it to buy Hailey this bed." It was so sweet. He then said I could have his piggy bank and Hailey's piggy bank money to buy it for her. He also asked where my piggy bank was :). I thought that was pretty cute. After a trip to Wal-Mart we finally made it home. We are getting ready to have another movie night. Brian just called and is heading home for the night to get his rain gear for tomorrows hunt. Hayden has a birthday party to go to tomorrow and the town is having their annual Christmas open houses. I'm sure we'll have to get out to a few of those, too! Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

End of the Year Soccer Party

Thursday night was Hayden's end of the year soccer party. It was at Larry's Pizza. They enjoyed playing games in the game room and eating pizza. He got a trophy (picture is on Brian's phone....I'll download later), a ribbon, and a DVD of pics to music of them playing soccer. It was really cute. I have to say that I am kinda glad soccer is over. It would've been getting into my Christmas shopping on Saturdays :)!

Fieldtrip to Ride Horses

Hayden all saddled up!

Hayden had a fieldtrip on Thursday with his preschool to ride horses. They had a great time. He got to feed goats and sheep, brush a horse and donkey, ride a horse, and watch a dog that was supposed to listen to cues to not eat the ducks he was after :)! I'm sure at least one of the ducks will never be the same! He was pretty cute!

Walking With Dinosaurs

Nana and the kiddos

We had a busy week this week. Wednesday night, Nana took us all to alltel arena to see Walking with Dinosaurs! It was really neat. We had a great time and the show was awesome. Thanks so much, Nana...we really enjoyed it! Of course, my camera has completely stopped working now so all of the pictures from this post and on will be from my phone. It takes FOREVER to download them to the computer so that is why it is taking me so long to update the blog. I just haven't had the time to sit down and do it. I took lots of pictures with my phone but the quality is not that great. It does not do the dinosaurs justice. They looked so real. It was very loud and exciting. The kids enjoyed watching them fight. Hailey even said she was ready to see one bite the other one's head off :O !!!

Halloween 2007

Hailey drew the face (except the mouth) and helped carve this years pumpkin.

Hailey the witch.

Well, Halloween was a lot of fun. Kristen, Hannah, Jeremy, Madison, and Mimi came over to trick-or-treat. We had pizza first and then got ready to go out. Hailey was a witch, Hayden was spiderman (again), Hannah a dolphin, Jeremy a shark, and Madison a ladybug. We headed out just before dark and they racked up on candy. Our neighborhood is pretty big so everyone in the county comes to trick-or-treat. It is like a street party. We had a good time. Their are two different houses that really go all out. One has a witches pot and the kids get to drop pretend rats, roaches, etc into the brew. But, one house is amazing. They put up a wrought iron fence and gate that says "cemetary". They have probably 20 "people/monsters" out in the fenced in area. You have to walk through there to get to the front door and to the candy. The trick is that some of those "monsters" are real and will jump out at you. I was surprised that Hayden and Jeremy were the ones to go through and not the girls. They made it all the way to the door without a monster jumping out at them until the way back. It was so funny! Just before Hayden made it all the way back ...one jumped out at him and he just stepped it up and took off without making eye contact. It was hilarious! Brian stayed behind to pass out candy (scare little kids). We had to turn the light off around 8:00 after he went through $25.00 worth of candy!!!!!

Besides all the commotion with Halloween, we had some exciting news tonight. Hayden asked Jesus into his heart! We were so excited and surprised. He had been asking lots of questions lately about who all has Jesus in their heart (bad guys in jail, etc.). This night, he asked if all children had Jesus in their heart. I started explaining and he said he had asked Him into his heart the day before. So, I explained what that meant and that Jesus died for us...he said, "in a carwreck?" It was so cute. So, we talked about it and prayed together and he asked Him into his heart. We were concerned with him being so young but our preacher said we shouldn't discourage him because who are we to judge whether he has or not. He said to tell him to tell us when he is ready to go down in front of the church and then be baptized and then we will go together. That way it is on his timeline and when he feels comfortable. Of course he keeps asking about it. So who knows when we will go forward but I am still so excited for him and blessed to know now that both of our children are Christians. It was a great way to end Halloween and one we are sure never to forget!
