Crawl, Drag, & Squirt

Hailey cheering on her other 2 classmates.

Hailey and best bud, Megan

Here are some pictures and a video from last weeks Crawl, Drag, & Squirt. It is a competition that she had to qualify for in P.E. by being timed doing an obstacle course. Two girls and two boys from each class with the quickest time get to go on to the finals and compete with each other. The fire department puts it on and they come out with an obstacle course. The fastest ones from this round go on to compete at Toad Suck. She did really well but dropped the "dummy" at the end...it just slipped out of her hand. She was kindof disappointed but recovered fine. She is just so darn competitive...wonder who she gets that from! :)

Kennedi, Hailey, Parker, and Reid ready to compete for Mrs. Ellis' 2nd grade class.

Kennedi and Hailey.

They apparently have some kind of "group" at school and Hailey and Kennedi are

"Banjo sisters" whatever that means! :)

Update

We have had a busy past couple of days! I had a garage sale on Saturday, Hayden had 2 soccer games, and Hailey had softball practice! Whew! On Sunday, we went to church and to eat lunch then headed home to work around the house. Hailey had her first softball game Monday night and they won 7-6!!! Woo hoo!! It was very stressful because I had to help coach as Brian was out of town with work. I didn't really get to even pay attention to the game much because I was having to make sure the girls were in batting order and keep switching their positions around according to Brian's instructions. It was difficult because I didn't even know all of their names! I know Hailey got a hit and on base each time up to bat (3). She played pitcher (it is machine pitch so she just fielded that area) and then 1st base. It was a little "bad news bear-ish" but hopefully when Brian gets back, he can get all the kinks worked out. I plan on getting some video up soon of both of them playing. They both play on Thursday and Hayden plays on Friday. We have a busy weekend with Toad Suck and Hailey will be performing with her jump rope team on Saturday there. Below is there ball schedules for those of you trying to make a game....

Our Sunday

The kids and I went to church on Sunday while Brian went hunting. Before we left, he called with the "good news". He killed a turkey. Of course, I got the play-by-play. :) By the time we got back home, he was home too and wanted me to take some pictures of his "prize". While I was at it, I took some of Hailey in her church dress. She looked so pretty! I had trimmed her hair finally so it is not as stringy looking as it was. Anyway, some cute pictures of her to share....

And....the boys!

What you can't see is about 1000 gnats swarming this thing....YUCK!

Spring Fling

After Hayden's soccer game, we headed to Hailey's school for Spring Fling. It is their annual fundraising event where you buy tickets and they can play games, eat food, and their is a silent auction. The kids had a great time! It is very inexpensive fun for them! Of course, it was just me and the kids because Brian was turkey hunting! I had to work the hair painting booth for 30 minutes, so I did my kids and a few more and was through! We had a great day together!

Hailey got blue and red stripes painted in her hair and then a little dog face painted on her cheek.
Hayden got a blue stripe painted down the middle of his head and a little red dog painted on his cheek.

Hayden enjoying cotton candy after a hot dog, chips, coke, and popcorn!
Hailey trying cotton candy to see if she has acquired a taste for it yet.....NOPE!
Hailey trying to make some baskets for prizes at one of the games.
Hayden's turn!
Hailey & Hayden racing each other in a pizza box race. It was cute. Hayden came in a very close 2nd!

And, there off!

Hayden's Soccer Game

Hayden had another soccer game on Saturday. He made his first GOAL!!! He actually kicked the ball 3 or 4 times! He was pretty proud of himself! We had a busy day so we had to leave a little early to make it to Hailey's school for Spring Fling. Here are a few pictures from the game and the night they took team pictures.

This is the face he makes when he's swinging in softball. His coach told him to get mad at that ball like he does when he gets mad at his sister!

Hailey's Fashion Party

Hailey got invited to a "Fashion Party" on Friday night. They dressed up and walked the "cat walk". It was pretty cool. The dad is a photographer so the whole living room was set up like a photo shoot with the big lights and a runway and curtain. He took pictures and is going to put it on a disk for us so maybe I will be able to post some on here. Hailey said it was the best party ever! It wasn't even a birthday party, just a girl party. She had a blast and looked really cute, too!

A Lesson In Shaving

Jeremy and Hayden were in the bathtub playing with his new Spongebob grooming kit. It was so funny to see them with their shaving cream, which was almost all gone during this one bath :)! I had them explain to me what you do with the razor and cream. It was too funny!

Finally Some Updates!

Get ready for some major posting. We finally got a new card reader and I will be working on the blog this weekend trying to go back and update chronologically. You may want to scroll down and start with March 19th's post...A Day at the Races and work your way up. I placed that one in the correct order and will be adding more activites as I have time over the weekend. Got to get to bed now. It is almost 1:00 a.m. and I have been blogging for almost 5 hours! We have a busy day tomorrow so check back for more posts!

Hayden's Soccer Game

Well, Hayden finally had another soccer game. With all the rain here, they haven't gotten to play or practice soccer in weeks. He has only had 3 games and we missed 1, so he has played in 2! Hayden, Jeremy, and I headed out for the soccer fields this morning only to realize that it was FREEZING!!!!!! And the wind was blowing about 50mph (seemed like). Jeremy and I were freezing but Brian was on his way from turkey hunting and had warm clothes for us. So, Jeremy and I cuddled up in my chair to keep each other warm. Hayden actually made contact twice with the ball while kicking it. Kicking it the wrong way, but hey, we made contact!!!! As most of you know, Brian and I were not thrilled that he wanted to play soccer again this year. It is not "his sport". But, he wanted to play and so here we are on our way to the game. Hayden informs me on the way that he doesn't want to play soccer anymore! Yeah! Next year....NO SOCCER! But, he did play and absolutely LOVES his new soccer ball (thanks Hannah, Jeremy, & Madison). They even used it during the game. And Hayden made sure he announced loud and clear, "I can't E-lieve I got a new soccer ball for my birthday party" to everyone that was close by! And, his daddy put together his new soccer net Mimi & PopPop bought him. Hayden and Jeremy had fun with it when they got home from the soccer park.

Hayden's Birthday Sleepover

We survived the party, barely. I thought it would be relaxing because their was a party planner and all but NOOOOO. It was very hectic. We had so many kids (15, plus some siblings of Hayden's buddies) so it was CRAZY! I was pulled in every direction and was stressed out! I forgot candles, I had kids to keep up with whose parents left them that I did not even know their parents names, and kids running around everywhere! Needless to say, I was glad when it was all over. Hayden had a great time and got some great gifts that he was ready to get into.

Well, while the birthday party was in action, and boy do I mean ACTION, the girls (Hailey & Hannah) were cooking up some plans! They wanted to have a sleepover. So Scott & Kristen took the girls and we took the boys (Hayden & Jeremy). The boys went with me and we headed home. They were so cute, listening to their little conversations and all. They play so good together and have so much fun. One of Hayden's birthday gifts was Better Batter Baseball from us. He really like it. Jeremy like it too, but would rather retrieve Hayden's balls in the jeep! Too cute!

Batter Up!

Swing!!!!

Jeremy's Turn

The boys went through those toys like lightening. They wanted to play with everything! Another favorite item was the Spongebob Grooming Kit. They stripped those clothes off so fast and jumped in my tub ready to shave! It came with hair gel, shampoo, a comb, shave cream, mirror, and pretend razor. They were so funny trying to shave. The next thing I knew they had gone through the 4oz bottle of shampoo and "needed more". It was so funny! I know that bathtub was slippery. You couldn't even see through the water for all the shave cream and shampoo residue. When time to actually wash them, I had to empty the water and use fresh!

Ready to get rid of those pesky whiskers!

Hayden's 5th Birthday Party

Happy Birthday, Hayden!

On April 11, 2003 we welcomed our sweet little boy. Hayden John was born via scheduled C-Section on a beautiful Friday morning. When I finally got to see you, you were just beautiful. You had golden blond hair that just stuck straight up! Your fingernails were so long and sharp that within minutes you scratched your face and still have the scar to prove it! You were such a good baby. You hardly ever cried unless you needed something. I cannot believe you are now 5 years old! You have such a sweet spirit about you and have the best manners, too! You are so friendly and are quite the talker! You keep us laughing constantly and are such a blessing to our family. We love you Hayden and thank God everyday for you!
