UCA Football Game

Just another new school outfit. They are tired of this so I will stop :)

We went to the UCA football game tonight. It was alot of fun. Hayden, of course, wanted to go to Spirit Night at Chick fil A for his school fundraiser, because "my teacher said we had to go"....thanks alot! And Hailey was fired up about going to the game. She went to her room and changed into her (very small/old) Matt Jones Razorback Jersey and camo gouchos. With her tennis shoes so she could run and she wanted black marks under her eyes. So we put black under her eyes and I got these pics.

The Boys 4 Wheelin' Adventure

Hayden said they look like pizza men in this picture. Too much Pizza Inn?

Gangsta Style

Ready for the woods!

I had to write down the funniest story so I wouldn't forget it. I am sure I have forgot some of the parts already, but, here goes....
Brian and Hayden went 4 wheelin at Brian's hunting camp on Sunday afternoon. When they got back. We were all at the table eating dinner (including Megan). Let me just fill you in on our regular dinners. Brian loves to tell stories (and the kids beg him to tell them)and half the time they are not true. Hailey will just look at me and say, "Momma?" Cause she knows I will not lie. So, we are eating and they request a repeat of an old story Brian had told. He begins the story and all 3 kids are just mesmerized because when Brian tells a story, the details are so vivid that you feel like you were right there. Anyway, he's telling this story and Hailey keeps glancing at Megan with a big smile (she's heard the story before) like isn't this great! Then they got on the topic of snakes and their trip to the woods. Brian mentioned he did see some snakes and Hailey made some comment like Hayden was probably scared or something (I can't really remember that part). So Brian helps him out with his story. He says, "I got off the 4 wheeler to use the bathroom and looked down and saw a couple of snakes around me (this is true). Then I turned around and saw Hayden waiting there sitting on the 4 wheeler. I noticed this snake crawling up the 4 wheeler and poking his head up right behind Hayden's shoulder (all of this is fabricated of course). I said, Hayden watch out! Look behind you! (Now Brian is in full actor mode and role playing all of this out)I said, "kick it!" And Hayden got up took a step and kicked that snake and it went flying through the air and killed it dead!" I am watching all the kids faces. The girls have big eyes and their mouths open and are not saying a word. Hayden is looking down as if not to make eye contact and blow his story, like yeah it's true. But then, the story was so convincing, I guess Hayden started to believe it too and said, "Daddy, did I really kill it?" OH MY GOODNESS! We have never laughed so hard! It was hilarious! Can't wait to hear what his fishing tales will be!

Our Weekend

We have had a good weekend except that I have not felt that well. I was pretty puny (?) on Saturday and am feeling a bit better today. Friday night, Hailey had a sleepover Bday party at Natalie's and Brian and I went on a date! We had dinner AND A MOVIE! What a treat, except the movie was pretty dumb, Tropic Thunder. It had some funny parts but very dumb. Then, what do we do next, go to Wal-Mart! He enjoyed looking at gardening stuff and I was looking for work stuff. I have been working all weekend on getting organized for work. I got to buy some new stuff and am excited about using it all!!! Saturday, I shopped some more for work and then Hayden had a birthday party to go to. Today, we went to church and Hailey is at Megan's so Brian took Hayden 4 wheeler ridin'. He was pumped up! I am going to enjoy my quiet house until Hailey gets back home! Hope everyone else is having a good weekend!

Friday, 5th Day of School

Well, on the way to school, Hayden reminded me that he got to go to b.c. When I corrected him and called it P.E., Hailey responded, "I do to!" Then Hayden says, "You mean you got inbited (aka invited), too?" Like it was a party or something...too funny! He cracks us up. Hailey was very excited when I picked her up because she got chosen to do the class bulletin board first. The teacher picks someone to take home a small bulletin board. You put pictures on it of yourself and bring it back on Monday. It is displayed in class all week and then on Friday you get to tell everyone about the pictures. She remembered that she got picked first in kindergarten, too! What a memory! I guess we better work on that this weekend!

4th Day of School

Hayden continues to say the funniest things in the morning when I am trying to get him up for school. This morning when I woke him up I had to go back in again because he wasn't up yet. He told me he was just thinking what he is going to do first: get dressed or go potty. Reminds me of when we were kids! Then when I picked them up, they got in the car and he was so excited! He told me that tomorrow they are doing b.c. I was confused and thought maybe they were working on the alphabet letters "B & C". As I asked more questions, FINALLY I figured out what he was talking about....tomorrow they got to go to P.E.!!!!! It was hilarious, Hailey and I both got tickled over that one!

3rd Day of School

Ok, they are both getting tired of me taking their pictures before school, but I just wanted to get them in their new school clothes. School is going well and they are both enjoying it. Hayden loves buying his lunch at school. So this could get expensive!

Day 2-School

Well, this morning did not go as smooth. Brian left early to go to Tulsa so I didn't have any help and Hayden did NOT want to get out of bed! One time when I went back in and he was still in bed, I told him to get up and he told me "I am thinking about what I need to do!". I thought that was pretty smart. I said, "you NEED to get out of that bed!" So, I was afraid we would be running late since I am still walking him in and only got one picture of them today. I didn't even notice Hayden was covering up his shirt with his arms so you can't even really see his new shirt. He was excited about being a "tray" at school today instead of bringing his lunch. They had another good day. Hayden's class went on a gingerbread hunt and he got to see Hailey twice and Megan once during the day. After school, we went to tumbling class. Hailey did really well! She liked it alot, especially since Hannah is in her class...and we didn't even know when we signed up!!! She is learning a backhandspring and front handspring and fine tuning a backwalkover. I was really impressed! I'll try and put a video clip on her as she progresses. And I'll try to get more pictures tomorrow morning before school!

First Day of School

The first day of school went well. The night before (Sun night), Hayden had a bit of an anxiety attack (we think). He couldn't go to sleep and kept getting up saying his belly hurt or his booty itched :) or he wanted to sleep with Hailey. He is a good sleeper and he didn't get to bed until around 11:00! I know he was tired this morning! Everyone got up and ready and off to school. Hailey had to be dropped off at 8:00 and she just wanted us to let her out. Hayden didn't have to go until 9:00 today and so we both took him. Of course, I video taped him walking in and took several pictures. He went right in. He didn't have any trouble with us leaving. I did get teary though. He had a good day. So did Hailey. Of course when I picked them up I had to probe to get information out of them. Hayden couldn't remember his friends names in his class. He played with Reagan on the playground. He got hungry and ate his lunch and snack. Oh, by the way, he can't believe he gets to take PB&J and wear flip flops!!! His favorite thing about his day was going to the other classrooms and "writing stuff down". ???I have no idea what that means!??? Hailey played with Megan, Natalie and Michael on the playground. She got hungry, too, and had her lunch and snack. She like recess best! When I picked them up I had a donut waiting for them and they were thrilled! The funny thing is that Hayden concocted this crazy story all on his own....when Brian asked him how his day went, he had a solemn look on his face and said, "it was horrible!" When Brian asked why, he said, "I had to go to the printables office!". Brian looked at me and then I knew Hayden was fibbing. He held a straight face for awhile and then started laughing. I thought that was pretty clever! He knows if he gets in trouble at school or goes to the "printables" office, he would get in more trouble at home, so I guess he thought he would pull a fast one past his daddy. After a trip to Target to use Nana's gift card, we ate dinner at Cracker Barrel with Mimi and PopPop.

Sydney's Birthday Party

Today, we went to the pool, the four of us. We met some friends of ours out there and enjoyed visiting while the kids played. The sun stayed out most of the time and the water was still really cold. We didn't stay long because we had to get home and get ready for a birthday party. We headed to Burn's Park to the amusement park for Sydney's birthday party. It was a really great party. The kids LOVED it!! For those of you who have small children, you should take them. It is very inexpensive and fun, too. Sydney's mom and I went to high school together and her grandma was my cheerleading sponsor (I am feeling really old right now). We all go to church together and Sydney and Hayden both start K at the same school. We then headed over to the rocket slide (new and improved from when we were kids) with some of the kids and parents from church. We stayed until 8:30! It was dark when we left. We were all starving so we headed back home to Taco Bueno (I've got to have a break from this place). Now the kids are in bed and Brian and I are enjoying watching the Olympics. Have a good weekend!

Our Week

This week has been crazy busy. After we dropped Linda off at the airport, we headed back to Conway because Hayden had his kindergarten orientation. We met his teacher and she seems great. He is super excited and counting down the days. The next morning (Thurs) we headed back to school for his K screening. We had been working on some of the skills and he did really well. One funny thing...he was supposed to cut around a football and told Miss Ortiz, I'm getting tired (before he even finished it)! After that we headed to the pool. It was such a beautiful day. I didn't even put sunscreen on and got pretty burned :0! Then we went home and showered, headed to Joe's with Mimi & PopPop and then BACK to school for Hailey's orientation. She got the teacher she wanted and she seems great too! She has coached gymnastics and cheerleading, too. She is really sweet. I think they will both have great years. On Friday, we had lunch with Mimi and ran a few errands before it started to rain. I had dinner plans with my group of friends from Hailey's school. So, five of us went to eat at Outback and we stayed there talking until 11:00! We had a great time, laughing and joking. We will definitely have to do it again soon, girls! While we went out for our dinner, Virginia, Kim, Brian and the kids, and Brian's grandparents came up for dinner at Mike's. Virginia brought each of them an outfit and a Target gift card for school stuff! Thanks Nana! They were really pumped up! Brian said they had a nice time.

Bye Bye Linda!!!

Well, today was a sad day. I had the task of driving Linda and the kids to the airport. Today was the day they moved to Dubai. Dubai is an emirate of the United Arab Emirates. Steve is already there and after an approximately 14 hour plane trip, Linda and the kids will be, too! Their flight left at 3:30 and after a short layover in Houston, they will arrive in Dubai tomorrow morning about 9:30 a.m. our time (6:30 p.m Dubai time). Crazy, huh? We got to the airport and all had lunch there together before taking these last few snapshots. We then said our goodbyes, through tears, hugged and they were gone. We will miss you all. Be careful and have a good time! Get your blog up and running soon so we can keep up with you guys!

A Day at the Park

With our summer quickly passing us by, I feel pressured to squeeze in as much "fun" these last couple days as possible. So, today, we got a pizza and headed to the park for a picnic and some playtime. The weather here has been great...mid to upper 70's!!! We had our lunch and I got a few pics of the kids. Then we headed to Linda's for a short visit with them and Traci before she left for home. Next was a haircut for Hayden before kindergarten!

Linda's Last Hoorah!

Tanner and Logan (Heather and Traci's boys) in car at Playworld.
One of Logan's favorites...the carousel. I bet Traci spent $20.00 popping tokens in this thing! HaHa!!
Hayden going off the diving board at the pool. It looks cold, doesn't it?

Jenifer and Hudson
Hunter & Hayden (Jenifer's other son)
Back Row: Hudson, Hunter, Tanner, Hayden, Drew, and Logan being held by Traci (with Hampton in the belly!) Front Row: Megan, Hailey, and Tatum.
All the kids minus Jacob (who was with a friend) and we added Megan so Hailey would have someone her age to play with! Thanks Meg for coming with us!
Linda and I at Loca Luna'sThe MOD Squad
From left: Jenifer, Linda, Heather, Me, and Traci

On Monday, our Mod Squad group got together with kids. It was pretty funny. We laughed at how chaotic it was with so many kiddos. We did have a good time. We all first met at Playworld so the kids could run around and climb and play games. Then we headed over to the pool for lunch and swimming. It was cloudy and in the high 70's so a bit cold for swimming but the kids still got in that water. The moms just watched and visited. Thanks to Linda for lunch! We all left and then went home to get ready for our dinner....just girls!!!! We went to dinner at Loca Luna in Little Rock. It was very good. We had a great time visiting together. This will probably be our last visit all together until after Traci has her baby (in 3-5 weeks!) and until Linda comes home next June for our next Mod Squad vacation to Cabo San Lucas! For those of you who do not know, Linda is moving to Dubai (United Arab Emirates) where Steve took a job. They will be there for 1-2 years!!! We will all miss her and wish her family well....and BE SAFE!!!!
