Our Christmas Tree

Thought I would take a couple of pics of our Christmas decorations. We have 3 Christmas trees decorated and the kids just love them all! I haven't gotten pictures of it yet, but I hang all their handmade goodies across the opening into the living room. That way everyone can see them when they walk into the house and I get to decorate the tree in a "theme", sortof. They just LOVE looking and counting how many handmade things they have up there. If you ask them, they can tell you exactly how many they have. We add more as they come home with stuff. I will take pictures of it next and post it on here. Hope everyone is having a good week so far! We are counting the days until Christmas!!!!

For some reason, the colors don't show up very well, but my tree is green and red. I changed it last year, so this is the second year I have had a "grown up" tree. I decided the kids could decorate their own so I could decorate this one.

Hailey wanted to pose with the Santa. The Nativity Set Hayden helped with.
Hailey's tree...it's light pink, fuschia, and black...but hard to tell.

Happy Thanksgiving & Happy Birthday....to ME!

For some reason, these pictures didn't load right and they are all out of order and not centered right. But you get the picture!

On Thursday, not only did we celebrate Thanksgiving, but it was my birthday, too! The kids enjoyed telling everyone. We went to my mom & dad's for dinner. We got out there early so that the kids could play. Hailey & Garret enjoyed climbing the tree in the front of Mimi & PopPop's yard. Brian said that one time, Hailey got up there so high she could not get down. He had to climb up and get her!!! Then we got together a game of kickball. It was hilarious and I think we were all sore the next day. We had a great time! We all then came in for a delicious dinner and pumpkin pie for dessert! Yummy! Later, the kids enjoyed playing charades and win, loose, or draw. Afterwards, Momma/Daddy/Brian/ Sean and I all played Scrabble. We had a great time and enjoyed teasing each other! Hope everyone else had a great Thanksgiving! Now it's back to work and school :(

Christmas Ideas

Last year, I was asked to post the kids wish lists on the blog for everyone. This year, I can't because nosey little Hailey likes to look on the blog, too! So, if I only post things off their lists that haven't been bought already, it would give it away! So, I do have their lists, and anyone who needs a little help with ideas, feel free to email me or call me.

Bowling with Buddies

Today, we met up with some buddies and went bowling. The kids had a great time and the adults got to visit, too. It was girls against boys and I think boys won both games but they all had fun. Hayden almost won the first game....he only missed Thomas by just a few points. He got a strike right off the bat! Of course, he pretty much just throws it down there! Hailey got 2 spares!

Random Stuff

Hayden talked Brian into taking his picture with his webkinz. He lined them all up on the couch (all 21) plus his two Build-a-bears and a few extras. Hailey got a couple new dresses for church and I just loved these little leg warmers. I had to get her picture in them. They remind me of when I was a little girl. She looked soooo cute and got lots of compliments.

Hayden's Thanksgiving Feast

On Thursday, Hayden had his Thanksgiving Feast. They dressed up as either pilgrims or indians. Hayden was the only boy pilgrim and wasn't so sure about it his teacher said. She assured him that there were boy pilgrims and that, in fact, the first pilgrim was a boy. After she showed him a picture of him, he felt better about the whole thing. He was the cutest little pilgrim I ever saw. He did want the big yellow bow removed ASAP, though! He said it looked like a girl! They had turkey sandwiches, popcorn, grapes, pumpkin pie and apple juice.......at 2:00 in the afternoon!

Hayden's placemat he made.
What a cute pilgrim!

Chowing down on his turkey sandwich.

Our Week

This week has been a bit of a roller coaster. I got called on Monday about 2:30 from the kids school that Hayden was in the office with a sore throat. They said he did not have fever but his cheeks were a little flushed. I told the lady that I was about 20 minutes away and it would be about time for school to be out before I could get there anyway. And a sore throat? Really? I told her, "Just tell him I am on my way and he will not no the difference". I left work shortly thereafter and got another call on my way to school. The same lady called to let me know she sent him back to class and her threw up in class! I felt terrible....mom of the year award! I picked him up in the nurse's office and we headed for home. We barely got home in time for him to throw up again. He seemed fine after that and so I got him into the bath to get him all cleaned up. He perked up in the tub and played for a bit. As soon as I got him out, he threw up for a third time! I got him in his PJs and into my bed to watch TV while I started dinner. He fell asleep until about 6:30, woke up threw up again and then ate almost a whole can of chicken noodle soup! He seemed better after that and then had some jello. Luckily, he didn't get sick anymore after that, but I gave him some Phenegren cream just to make sure he rested through the night! Not sure if it was a short lived virus or bad mini corn dogs from school lunch :0 ! I missed work on Tuesday with him and got back to work on Wed. The kids were out today and Friday so Nana came up and stayed Wed night so she could keep them for us today. I am off tomorrow!!! YAY!!! I hope to do a little bit of Christmas shopping this weekend!

Happy Birthday Megan!

On Saturday, I went along with Hailey to her best friend, Megan's, birthday party. We went and took 10 little girls to see High School Musical 3 and then to eat pizza. The movie was really good and Hailey and I enjoyed seeing it together. Of course she wants everything High School Musical now! :) Happy Birthday, Megan!!!!! Hope you had a great day!

Nana's Trip

Today, Virginia drove up to pick the kids up from school, take them to get a treat, and head to the park. They went to Stoby's. Hayden had ice cream and Hailey had cheese dip. They went and played for an hour at the park before coming home. They had a great time and enjoyed their visit. I made spaghetti and dessert for all of us and we ate and then checked out Brian's new truck. He's pretty excited. It is his work truck and it had to be ordered so it is fresh off the assembly line!

Oh by the way....We were all talking about our day at dinner tonight. Hailey said, that at school today, they voted on who they would choose if someone in their class was running for President. She was the only girl who got enough nominations to run against two boys in her class. Then they had a run-off, and GUESS WHAT??? Hailey won "President"! Look out Hilary, Hailey is the future! Haha!!!

Hailey's 1st Jump Rope Performance this Year

This is Emily, Natalie's older sister that Hayden is just smitten with!
The team after their performance.

Hailey doing an "Around the World"

Hailey doing the pretzel.

This has been a very busy week so far. Hailey had jump rope practice on Monday. Then on Tuesday, she had tumbling and then we went straight to Chick-fil-A for her school spirit night where her jump rope team was performing. They have quite a few new members this year. They did a short routine, but did good. We then stayed for dinner which was CRAZY because it seemed half of her school was there! But they had fun!
Then it was home to watch the election results, which we are all very disappointed. We all need to be praying for our country and for the man who was elected to lead us....very scary. I do have to tell something kind of funny, though. We have been talking quite a bit lately about the election with Hailey. She has asked who we are voting for and why. She has also told us their discussions at school about the candidates. She knew we were for McCain and our reasons why. The morning of the election, we were getting ready in my bathroom for school/work. She said, "Momma, what if Obama wins?" I said, "Hailey, we just need to pray about it." So she said, "Let's pray now". So all four of us stand in the bathroom holding hands and begin to pray. Brian and I go first and then Hailey. Brian and I both mention God's will for our country. When it is Hailey's turn, she says, "And let McCain win!" Haha! Too funny! She's just going to cut to the chase and lay it all out there! Then, on the ride to school, Hayden asks who's going to win from my class?" Pretty funny!

Jeremy, the King

I had to snag this picture off of Kristen's blog because my pictures turned out too dark.
You can't really see, but Jeremy is receiving his plaque at the ceremony.

After our trip to Russellville, we headed to Greenbrier to watch Jeremy receive his plaque for being his class king. He got picked to represent his kindergarten class along with a little girl who was queen. It is Greenbrier's big fundraiser in which they raised over $70, 000! Go Greenbrier! He sure looked handsome! Congratulations Jeremy! We are so proud of you!

Our New Baby Cousin

Baby Samantha and Hailey

Awwww!

On Saturday, we headed up to Russellville to my aunt and uncle's house for lunch. They cook the best food. We had smoked ribs, pork tenderloin, cajun turkey and all the fixins! It was great! We also got to meet our newest edition to the family, baby Samantha. She is the beautiful daughter of Sophie and Stephen. She is absolutely gorgeous and we all fought over holding her. Hailey and I got the most turns! :) Hailey LOVED holding her and was really good with her. Thanks for sharing her with us guys!
